Mr. Parker represents clients in federal and state court and before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Mr. Parker’s practice also includes disputes involving employment contracts, covenants not to compete and confidentiality agreements.

Derrick G. Parker is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in Texas Super Lawyers magazine. Super Lawyers recognition is a Thomson Reuters service.

Mr. Parker represents clients in civil rights including race, gender, national origin, disability, equal pay, harassment and retaliation, wrongful discharge, employment tort, defamation and slander, and other employment-related charges.

Mr. Parker also represents clients in disputes involving wage and hour law (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and a variety of other labor standard matters. Additionally, Mr. Parker represents individuals in other civil litigation matters including those injured in 18-wheeler, car, and motorcycle accidents.

Prior to opening the firm, Mr. Parker worked for Thompson, Coe, Cousins and Irons LLP, in the Labor and Employment Section. Prior to that, Mr. Parker clerked as in-house counsel with the Oakland Raiders and was employed by the Boeing Company (Space and Communications Division) as an Engineer/Scientist. Mr. Parker is also a certified mediator and a former licensed contract advisor for the National Football League Players Association.

Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas, Mr. Parker received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University where he was also an athlete on the Louisiana Tech Football Team.
